CLIMATS DU COUCHANT - CHARDONNAY 2016 Russian River Valley

A delicious, subtle, elegant Russian River Valley Sonoma Chardonnay, made in French oak, with a Burgundy style.

Our Chardonnay is a  blend of two blocks from the famed Bacigalupi Vineyard in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness and lightly whole-cluster pressed, yielding only the highest quality juice. Fermented with native yeasts at low temperatures, the wine was then sur lie aged 12 months in French Oak barrels and stirred twice weekly during the first four months of barrel aging.

This complex, beautiful wine shows again a vibrant golden color, and is more subtle compared to our 2015 vintages. It exhibits some floral accents, and is a delish to the pallet ; at first, citrus, then  a very nice balance of acidity and a velvety structure.
The finish,is a long one, making it a very pleasant and elegant California  wine.

Our Chardonnay was bottled unfiltered with minimal intervention in order to best express the beautiful terroir of the Bacigalupi vineyard, or its “Climat” per the burgundy definition. It may exhibit "cloudy" in the glass when served too cold. It's price is discounted accordingly; while it compares to our famous 2013 Vintage elegance !
